Ann
received her Ph.D. from the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2002. Her dissertation on the ISO 9000 quality management standard was the winner of the 2001 INFORMS/Organization Science Dissertation Proposal Competition. Prior to coming to the U.S., Ann was a research assistant and lecturer at the University of Göttingen, Germany in 1997-98. She has an M.A. and is a valedictorian at the School of Economics at the University of Göttingen.

Ann is interested in inter-organizational learning in the emergence and diffusion of new technologies, practices, and institutions, with a particular focus on the emergence and diffusion of cleantech and environmental management practices. Her current research projects investigate the role of vicarious learning in the diffusion of PV cell technologies in the solar power industry.
